The EN 15154 standard regulates the presence and supply, in work danger zones, of a sufficient amount of liquid for a body shower or eyewash, in case of a fire or after contact with substances hazardous for health. It consists of four different parts and contains the features and regulation for:
Plumbed-in emergency showers; Plumbed-in eye wash units; Non-plumbed safety showers; Non-plumbed eye wash units.
According to the EN 15154-2 standard for eye wash units, the dispensed water flow rate is 10 litres/minute and the water jet between 100 and 300 mm from the spraying point. It must be drinking water and run continuously for at least 15 minutes.
