The EN 12477 standard refers to protection against hazards associated with manual welding of metals, cutting and related hand and wrist processes. According to their performance, welding protective gloves are classified in two types:
Type A - Gas Welding. Suitable for welding when the heat source is generated by gas combustion or a blend of flammable gas with oxygen. They feature lower dexterity but greater performance.
Type B - Electric arc welding. Recommended for welding activities that require greater dexterity such as TIG. They feature lower performance.
