Born as a small business at the green heart of Italy, Umbria, became today an international reality in the production and commercialisation of the largest vast mono-brand product range for the safety of workers. SIR branded workwear, safety footwear and personal protective equipment, designed and manufactured to assure the highest level of protection and quality standards, using the cutting-edge technological innovations. THE VISION OF GINO SIRCI
A HISTORY MADE IN SMALL STEPS
The new and the different: two concepts that represent perfectly the innovative spirit and perseverance of the founder Gino Sirci and his project of enterprise, Sir Safety System. Started in 1979 as a personal enterprise adventure, today became a reality at the international level, always supported by the same, constant commitment. Enthusiasm and passion infused in the same mission since the very first day: "Protecting the workers."
1979
It all began in the roaring Eighties, in Central Italy, precisely in Santa Maria Degli Angeli, Assisi, a small town in Umbria. A real “workshop" operating in the workwear sector: a sector that, at that time, was totally an unknown world for most people, and the fundamental importance of which was underestimated and even dangerously ignored. But the foresight and the ability to look beyond were the basis for the success.
1984
The Company, initially born as a one-man enterprise, was joined by Francesco Sirci’s support, Gino’s trusted brother, always by his side to lead Sir Safety System to its actual prestigious position. At the same time, the Company moved to larger premises in Assisi’s Industrial area, driven by the need for wider spaces, due to the work’s constant increase. The Company began to assume a more defined identity.
1994
Customers’ needs started to become increasingly more diversified and complicated to accomplish, thus leading Sir Safety System to the decision to start manufacturing its own workwear. This allows the Company to meet all customers’ demands in a direct and faster way, and to give free rein to the management’s creative mood, through the creation of brand new experimental products, aimed to explore safety’s world, still to be discovered.
1998
The ISO 9001 Quality Certification attests the virtuous company work. Prestigious recognition that is not everyone’s prerogative and which is fundamental particularly in the field of safety and protective clothing. Synonymous with great company reliability and product quality.
1999
A historic year for Sir Safety System. In fact, the first building of the current company plant was inaugurated. A building that turned out to be an architectural statement of Gino Sirci's mentality and entrepreneurial spirit, as an interpretation of the idea of beauty and maximum quality. A structure through which the CEO also intended to ensure that the employees enjoyed a satisfying work experience, both from visual and mindful aspects.
2001
Ambition leads to great horizons – SIR expanded and Italy became too small. Thus began the experience beyond borders and new markets reached, such as those overseas. The opportunity to achieve significant new goals and compete in global markets seemed to auger well. An opportunity that turned into a new great success.
2002
The largest market share derived from the industrial sector, with its pulsating core in Northern Italy. Sir Safety acknowledged the opportunity to open a second commercial office based on the need to be closer to customers and have a stronger presence in the territory to fulfil the increasing demands. This was to be in Cusago, in the province of Milan.
2003
The horizon broadened and after opening up to foreign markets, internationalisation requirements imposed new business solutions for Sir. A new branch was opened, this time round abroad, after expounding on a growing entrepreneurial trend, in an era of globalisation. Sir Tech was founded precisely in Timișoara, Romania.
2005
SIR products gained increased support because they are synonymous with safety, quality and Italian design. The increase in demand required enhanced production and in turn organised logistics to supply as much as possible, and above all, quickly. This led to the area of the company warehouse being tripled by constructing the second wing of the building. The motto became “Deliveries in 24 hours.”
2011
The shock wave of the economic crisis hit Italy and all Europe. Despite this, Sir Safety was not subject to setbacks. Product quality and customer satisfaction became the key to corporate success, even during a difficult global moment. This entailed a further expansion in the company plant, which reached its current surface area. The third wing brought about an important novelty. The opening of the Company Store – a showroom dedicated to retail customers.
In the same year, Sir became a member of SATRA – an international organisation that works in the field of global occupational safety. This allows the company to be constantly informed on the standards and relevant updates on occupational safety, in the legislative field.
2020
Sir Safety System is a company that sells in over 30 countries around the world, with an annual production capacity of over 5,500,000 pairs of gloves, about 400,000 pairs of footwear, about 5,000,000 overall garments and over 1,000,000 PPE. Its main headquarters in Assisi (province of Perugia) covers an area of over 14,000 m2, including warehouses and facilities.
A company that above all pursues its mission to improve the lives of millions of workers.

2021
The Group's strong growth in the recent years and the need to consolidate its presence in German-speaking markets accelerate the internationalisation process. Sir Safety System Deutschland GmbH, a sales company based in Cologne, is being established, through which the Group ensures a punctual and timely service to customers in the DACH area.
2022
Sir Safety System is committed to creating a safe and responsible environment for all, concretely demonstrating its commitment to business ethics through the adoption of Model 231. Integrity and transparency are pursued through the implementation of this model, which is an essential guide to managing risks and promoting an ethical corporate culture. The company has adopted preventive measures to elude possible regulatory violations, ensuring adequate training of personnel and promoting ethical behaviour. Through rigorous risk assessment and the implementation of internal controls, Sir Safety is thus committed to protecting employees, business partners and stakeholders.
2023
The achievement of ISO 14001 certification testifies to Sir Safety System's commitment not only to provide quality products but also to do so in a sustainable manner.
A solid commitment to a path of sustainability and responsible environmental management, the result of targeted strategies to reduce emissions, optimise the use of resources and effectively manage waste, demonstrating the company's consistency with the best environmental practices. A path that involves all company processes, from the design and marketing of workwear to graphic customisation. Thus highlighting a holistic approach to responsible environmental management that embraces the entire production cycle.
By implementing environmental best practices, the company sets an example of social responsibility and commitment to the protection of the planet. ISO 14001 certification not only underlines Sir Safety System's compliance with international standards, but also gives confidence to customers and stakeholders, demonstrating a reduced ecological footprint and an ongoing commitment to preserving the environment for future generations.
